Plalking is good for your heart and good for your community.

Take Pride Winnipeg! is pleased to announce a new program, the Heart Winnipeg Plalking Club.

This club is for people who want to exercise while helping to beautify the streets of Winnipeg--picking up litter while walking (Plalking).

“This is a great program for those who have had heart issues,” says Tom Ethans, executive director at Take Pride Winnipeg! “With spring finally here and the snow melting, this is when Winnipeg is in need of help to rid the streets of litter. Walking is good exercise, and by adding the extra element of picking up litter, you can further improve your cardiovascular health.”

Take Pride Winnipeg! has partnered with the Reh-Fit Centre to develop the Heart Winnipeg Plalking Club. Sign-up sheets to join the club are available at the Reh-Fit Centre, with the first cleanup planned for Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.

Bags, gloves and shirts will be provided for all members of the club.

“The Centre is pleased to be launching the Plalking Club in partnership with Take Pride Winnipeg!” says Sue Boreskie, CEO of the Reh-Fit Centre. “The Club will be a great opportunity for people to exercise, socialize, and help make our community a beautiful place to live.”
