Manitoba Eco Awareness Day and Fashion Fest

Take Pride Winnipeg and Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba present:

Manitoba Eco Awareness Day and Fashion Fest - Friday, March 17, 2023 at CF Polo Park.

Take Pride Winnipeg and Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba are hosting the Manitoba Eco-Awareness Day and Fashion Fest, a province-wide contest, encouraging students to create striking works of wearable art from recyclable materials. 

Fashion Fest aims to inspire and ignite passion in students while educating them about the importance of recycling and reusing.  

The challenge is to rework recyclable items and other previously enjoyed materials that are beyond their intended purpose and to craft them into one-of-a-kind fashion designs. All materials used  Finalists will be invited to wear their designs at the Fashion Fest at CF Polo Park.

There will be environmental booths set up at the event for students to learn about recycling and more.

All students grades K-12 in Manitoba are welcome to participate. Students may enter as an individual or as a team of up to three students in your grade category.  One finalist from each grade and material category will be selected to compete for the grand prize. The grade categories are as follows:

K–5                     

6 – 9   

10 – 12

The contest runs from March 14th to April 29th, 2022.

Contest winners will receive prizes from Manitoba organizations such as:  Winnipeg Goldeyes, Manitoba Museum, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Assiniboine Park Zoo, and Oak Hammock Marsh as examples.
