PAINTING THE TOWN RED! OR GREEN...OR BLUE...

Is your house in need of a “brush up”?

The 2017 Brush Up Winnipeg program, sponsored by Manitoba Public Insurance and Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba, aims to beautify the community by painting the exterior of homes around Winnipeg. Homes are selected based on financial or physical restraints of the home owner. This program, run by Take Pride Winnipeg! Inc., has painted 100 houses since the program’s inception in 2006.

“Brush Up Winnipeg improves the curb appeal of the entire neighbourhood, and brings a huge smile to the face of the homeowner,” says Tom Ethans, executive director. “We have seen many homeowners over the years even brought to tears at the sight of their newly painted homes. They are so grateful to the corporate teams who put in the time to make their home beautiful again.”

Teams of corporate volunteers will be participating in large-scale Paint Days in June and September of this year. Homeowners are encouraged to apply via application forms in the Winnipeg Free Press March 27, April 1, 7 and 15. Information on how to apply can also be found here. The application deadline this year is May 12, 2017.

One of the homeowners who received a Brush Up in 2016 had this to say about the program: “I still feel very overwhelmed that such a wonderful event happened to me. Words cannot express how deeply touched, grateful and ecstatic I am to have my house looking so fabulous! This has been an absolutely wonderful experience! Thank you to all those who contributed to the success of not only my house being painted, but the program as a whole.”

Take Pride Winnipeg! is pleased to acknowledge Manitoba Public Insurance and Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba as Title Sponsors of this year’s program. Other major partners include Winnipeg Free Press, Dulux Paint, The Home Depot and City of Winnipeg.
