The Manitoba Lotteries Brush Up Winnipeg
The Manitoba Lotteries Brush Up Winnipeg event is an excellent team-building activity for companies seeking to make a difference within their communities and inspire civic pride. Since 2006, the exterior of thirty homes have been painted throughout the city of Winnipeg.
In 2006, Convergys developed a team-building activity called Brush Up Winnipeg, where employees painted the exterior of one home in need in just one day. The following year, Convergys and Take Pride Winnipeg partnered up to expand the program and seven homes across the city of Winnipeg were painted. The goal for 2010 is to complete ten homes. Each year, the homes are selected based on both physical and financial criteria. To view the full eligibility criteria, please scroll down.
We invite the corporate community and community groups to become involved in this campaign:
The cost to sponsor and paint a home is $500, as well as providing a minimum of 25 employees/volunteers on Paint Day. For more details and to receive team registration and team agreement forms, please email Jorge Orellana: jorge@takepride.mb.ca
Please note that you can download the team registration and team agreement forms online and fax them in to 956-7628. Both forms are required!
Homeowner application information:

Brush Up Winnipeg - Home Selection Criteria
A committee has been struck to evaluate all homeowner applications. Their role is to establish selection criteria and review all applications for eligibility.
Homeowners are encouraged to apply for Brush Up Winnipeg if they meet the following criteria:
- Your house must be within the City of Winnipeg
- You must be 65 years of age or older or have a permanent disability, and own and reside in the home that needs painting. If you are under 65 years of age, you must provide proof of your income.
- Your home must be a single family dwelling that you occupy yourself.
- The house must be structurally sound and not in need of major repairs.
- Because we are volunteers, we cannot paint homes higher than two stories.
- Your household income must be less than the following guidelines:
| Household Size | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 or more |
| Monthly Income | $1,999 | $2,199 | $2,399 | $2,699 |
Once all applications have been received, the Selection Committee will photograph all homes and conduct initial screening based on a street-level evaluation of the condition of the home. A final pool of potential homes will be subject to closer examination, including an interview with the homeowner. Selected homes will be identified from this final pool.
All selected applicants will be notified in the last two weeks of May 2010. Only homeowners selected for Brush Up Winnipeg 2010 will be notified. After Paint Day, homeowners not selected can request information as to why their home did not qualify.
