SAVE THE PLANTERS!

The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and Take Pride Winnipeg! will stage a demonstration calling on Winnipeggers to put a stop to flower planter cruelty on Thursday, June 25, at noon in front of a Portage Avenue flower planter near Mountain Equipment Co-op, 303 Portage Avenue.
Every year, dozens of downtown flower planters are subjected to harsh treatment, with cigarette butts, coffee cups and other litter choking innocent flowers and destroying the beauty of the flower planters and, by extension, tarnishing downtown Winnipeg’s image.
The BIZ and Take Pride employees will be encouraging Winnipeggers to “Save the Planters” as they launch a new campaign targeting litterbugs.
